I'm going to run with the theme, I hope, of this year's presidential election: honesty.
Honestly, I haven't so much as turned on my TV to see what's going on with GH or Liason in the past two weeks due to vacation/broken cell phones/and broken cars. I tuned in Friday and Monday to see Jason Cook premiere and that's about it. Most of what I'm going to recap here is based on, well, recaps and RTN polls. Here is what I understand to have happened.
- We all hate Johnny and Lulu and agree with Huma that they are a crime against humanity. Would we care if Maxie had to strip down to nothing and chain Johnny to a bed to keep Lulu away?
- Alexis and Jerry had sex and he has now become her personal body guard. Personally I don't buy the reformation. Is the sex THAT good? Or is Alexis being her usual, hypocritical "dangerous men warnings don't apply to me" self?
- Robin and Patrick have sucked up all airtime arguing about his parental involvement and completely ignoring the AIDS angle creating a dangerous vortex that makes any character it touches boring and dispensable. Elizabeth and Anna were doomed from the beginning and now they've dragged Diane into this whole thing. Which begs the question, who would you bet to win a death match: Diane or Anna?
- Guza continues to try and paint Claudia as the female version of Jason. It's not working for me. And I really don't like her putting her hands on Spinelli. That is reserved for Maxie, myself and anyone who I deem worthy! Personally, I think Guza would have better luck making Claudia into Sonny's twin sister... after he gets her pregnant.
- Sonny is preparing for wedding number 7. I wish you luck old man... here's to wedding number 8! Will Sonny and Kate make it to the alter? The honeymoon? Would Sonny's money be better spent on Kate's wedding dress or his designer straight jacket?
- They might as well have given Steve Burton the month of June off! Then maybe he would have come back fit and ready for some serious quality love-making scenes instead of being quarantined because of a non-existent and completely contrived Asian bird flu. We did get a nice little mention from Jason about how he would rather be alone than without Elizabeth. It was sweet, but it should have come after Elizabeth found out about Jason's quarantine and rushed to his door thus revealing herself to Claudia. That didn't happen so WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE PIZZA MAN VIRUS? There was also the little matter of a Carly pregnancy, but I'm choosing to completely ignore that. If I don't acknowledge it, it didn't happen.
-GH won an emmy for best daytime drama.... did they deserve it? The month of June suggests NO.
- A new doctor, played by Jason Cook (ex-Shawn DOOL), arrived in town and he's a mini Patrick! I loved Patrick when he first came on. I loved Jason Cook on DAYS. So basically I'm in love. His bedside manner isn't great, but I get the feeling from his scenes with Spinelli that he has some history with mental illness, which might add some layers. What do you think of the new doctor? Does he interest you or is he FF material? Does he have chemistry with Maxie? Will he shake things up for Spinelli? Is he connected to anyone on the canvas?
-Sam and Lucky ran off to never be heard from again. Oh, that didn't happen did it? Well, we have a couple months left this year - so don't give up hope!
-Oh and Logan was fired after daring to beat up Johnny? Who the hell cares? Can Anthony run Logan over with his wheelchair and be done with it already? He was doomed from the moment they nicknamed him monkey.
So that in a nutshell was June. Please forgive me if my selective memory left anything/anyone out. Feel free to try and correct me, but don't get offended if I throw up a big "I DON'T GIVE A RATS ASS" sign. It's just been one of those months.
As this wasn't the best thread starter- I promise (honestly!) to make up for it in the days to come by paying detailed attention to shows and offering my sarcastic and humorous insight.
And with that I'll leave you with this (an oldie but a goody) my personal opinion on the past month:
I'm stealing from Angela and last month's thread on the rules and listing of SF peeps. If there needs to be additions/removals/banishing.... just let me know!
Here's the deal, Sparky...Anyone can play the game as long as you follow the rules. (These are actual rules, not guidelines)
a. If it hasn't shown on the show you can't talk about it. That means no rumors, spoilers, promos, anything you've read in magazines or cast events.
b. So, what's a spoiler? A spoiler is anything that has been speculated in the media or otherwise about future events. (Please be careful regarding avatars and banners that might have information or pictures that have yet to happen)
c. Now, as long as you come up with your own ideas from your own head or your friend's heads you may bring it to the party. Speculate until you're blue in the face. Just don't re-wrap a spoiler and call it your own.
d. If you'd like to be an actual member just ask for a spoiler-free number. It's quick and mostly painless.
e. This is a group discussion not a lecture so please feel free to ask any and all questions you might have...that pertain to General Hospital.
Here is a list of our spoiler-free members. There are 15 of them so they each get to own 2 days of the month, right? No? Darn.
